BeerNow that I’m OLD (okay, okay, mid twenties, whatever, it’s the oldest I’VE ever been) I like to go to bed early. I’ve always been a morning person and was that awkward girl in middle school who fell asleep first at slumber parties – but now I’m even worse.

Luckily, I don’t have to stay out late anymore to drink and have fun with my friends. Thanks, Happy Hour.

In college, I’d take power naps religiously on Friday afternoons so I had the energy to stay out until 2 or 3 the next morning, but now that I’m in the Real World, everyone seems as glassy-eyed and exhausted as I am each evening. I’m not alone!

Tonight, I’m headed to a launch party at the coworking space I work from (UberOffices, in case you’ve never heard of it). A few hours ago, I checked the invitation to see what time it started and literally breathed a sigh of relief when I saw it was from 5:30-9:30 pm.

Now, I’m sure the super kewl kids will head out to the bars after the event, but I feel no pressure to do such a thing. It’s a Friday. We’ve allll had a long week. 5:30 is the perfect time to start drinking. And 9:30 is the perfect time to stop.

You can get your buzz going, head to Shake Shack for your late night drunk food (at 9 pm), and then hit the hay before 11.

The best part is, I can wake up at 8 am on Saturday, good to go. No hangover. No lingering tiredness. No epic dehydration.

Maybe this all makes me lame, but I just feel like people are finally on my level. What was totally loser-ish in college is the status quo in the working world. And I, for one, am totally okay with that.

Oh, and if you want to drop by the party tonight in Dupont, event info is here.
